Resources on Heritable Heart Conditions

Hearts in Rhythm Organization – HiRO: https://hiro.heartsinrhythm.ca/

A national organization dedicated to improving awareness and understanding of inherited heart rhythm (IHR) conditions, standardizing health care in Canada and preventing the tragedy of sudden cardiac arrest. They have a very extensive list of resources on their toolkit page and explanations about different types of inherited cardiac diseases like hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM), ARVC – Arrhythmogenic Right Ventricular Cardiomyopathy (ARVC), SADS (Sudden Arrhythmic Death Syndromes), Long QT Syndrome (LQTS), Catecholaminergic polymorphic ventricular tachycardia (CPVT), Brugada Syndrome (BrS) and idiopathic ventricular fibrillation (IVF).

 

The Canadian SADS Foundation – https://www.sads.ca/

A national organization dedicated to SADS (Sudden Arrhythmic Death Syndromes), which are a variety of cardiac arrhythmia disorders that are often genetic and can be responsible for sudden death in young, apparently healthy people. They have booklets about different conditions including: Sudden Arrhythmic Death Syndromes (SADS), long QT syndrome, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM), Arrhythmogenic Right Ventricular Cardiomyopathy (ARVC) and cardiac channelopathies.
